Prior to Board, financial processes were manual and heavily reliant on Excel. This meant finance sub-teams had siloed processes, version control was a challenge and consolidation was not the most efficient. Instant drill-downs from aggregates were non-existent – automation was the only solution.
The team needed a system that could provide a single source of the truth. A transparent and collaborative system that could be accessible to all budget holders. Board’s Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) solution was selected as the vendor of choice.
Working closely with implementation partner, bdg (better decisions group), the team started by building a project module. The value of the Board solution was recognized over time. The decision was made to develop a full Financial Planning and Analysis solution which was rolled out across the whole finance team with various stakeholders in the business having access to finance models in their areas of ownership.
Board has enabled CGT Catapult to break down the silos in finance processes, standardize the outputs, making it easier for the business to interpret the data. Instant visibility of underlying data has revolutionized the process, making scenario planning easier which helps the team plan continuously.
