FP&A agents aren't about replacing people, they're about freeing up
-
time and increasing accuracy. Usually, the variance analysis
-
takes everything from a few minutes up to a few
-
hours, depending on what issue it is, or if we needed
-
everything on product level, on SKU level, on
-
regional level. Those are probably the cases where I can spend
-
hours
-
just trying to find one gap in the balance sheet.
-
But with the FP&A agent, I can just ask the FP&A agent
-
to do it
-
within seconds. My name is Robin Bergman.
-
I'm
-
working as the FP&A lead for the Europe midsize region
-
at Chiesi. My perception of the FP&A agent was that it was
-
surprisingly fast and accurate. For me, the Board FP&A agent,
-
it helped a lot with variance analysis.
-
I usually compare actual versus budget or any other forecasting
-
scenario, and it was helping me to deep dive where the variance
-
was coming from, and also if there was some other variance where I could not really
-
explain it. If there was some issue, it could help me find
-
the number within the dataset. Instead of searching for
-
the needle in the haystack, it was able to give me the variance
-
automatically, where it could come from.
-
To me, it's very important to understand the reason or the drivers behind the
-
numbers. So with the FP&A agent,
-
I can get more specific answers. Because the agent
-
has access to P&L, both actual and planning,
-
but also balance sheet, it can
-
link the data between the different modules and
-
find variances between them. I would describe the FP&A agent as a
-
really smart colleague that has all the answers.
-
So basically, if you need anything, you can ask the FP&A agent
-
and it will have an answer. I believe that in the future, FP&A teams without
-
agents will be stuck analyzing numbers reactively, while FP&A
-
teams with agents will be proactive.
