Board announces winners of annual global customer awards for Outstanding planning projects

Board awards flagship customer projects to Eversource, Nationwide, and a leading French sporting goods retailer to celebrate their vision, ambition, and success in transformational planning project

Board International, the leading global provider of Intelligent Planning Solutions which help organizations plan smarter – enabling actionable insights and better outcomes, announced last week during the Board Beyond event in London the winners of its annual global customer awards to recognize and celebrate organizations who have transformed their business and operations with the use of Board Intelligent Planning solutions.

Nominations categories are based on three key areas of achievement:

·       World Class Transformation: companies that successfully transformed their business with Board and have a vision for Board to be used as a strategic company-wide tool. 

·       Long-Term Achievement: companies that have been with Board for a long time and continue scaling the use of the platform, adapting Board to the new processes and internal changes. 

·       Rising Star: companies that recently selected Board and while they are implementing the first project, there’s already an ambition and vision to make Board instrumental in the continuous success of the business. 


The Winners of the Board Global customer awards 2023 are the following:


Rising Star: Nationwide Building Society

The award in the Rising Star category went to Nationwide Building Society for financial planning transformation delivered alongside advisory partner, KPMG.

The project focuses on:

- Replacing and transforming planning processes and systems​,

- Providing one single source of the truth: End users are now prioritized with access to one single source of the truth via Board’s Intelligent Planning platform, reducing information silos, with a more integrated and intuitive approach to vital business planning across the organization​.

Nationwide Building Society is a British financial institution and the largest building society in the world with over 16 million members. To be clear Nationwide isn’t a Bank, It is a building society, or mutual, owned and run for the benefit of its members.

Nationwide are currently implementing Board to replace their current product cost management (PCM) application. The user-friendly design will further enhance insight and transparency, whilst also simplifying processes. Board will deliver an application that supports compliance with the Bank of England’s resolvability regulation, referred to as operational continuity in resolution (OCIR)

Nationwide is in the process of establishing a center of excellence within the business to improve self-efficiency. This team will own the Board Intelligent Planning Platform, continually investigating and assessing the near and future needs of the business. Leading to further opportunities to embed Board across the building society.

Long-term Achievement: Eversource Energy

The award in the Long-term Achievement category went to Eversource Energy for constantly developing the Financial Reporting solution with the flexible Board Intelligent Planning Platform. 

Requiring a more accessible and user-friendly system for managing its cost center and financial reports, Eversource Energy embarked on a journey to replace its manual financial reporting processes with the flexible Board Intelligent Planning Platform. Financial reporting has been standardized and automated to provide faster, more accurate results, and users are empowered to be self-sufficient and increase productivity across the organization.

World Class Transformation: a leading French sporting goods retailer

The award in the World Class Transformation category went to a French retailer for a Global Transformation FP&A Project that includes Financial and Operational Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting across all departments for over 4000 users.

They successfully delivered their planning transformation:

-       combining plans, forecasts, and business models throughout the entire organization​,

-       creating, controlling, and monitoring a common “united” KPI for the group,

-       ensuring cross-business and transversal analysis​.

The customer is one of the top European groups for sports equipment and the largest sporting goods retailer in France.
