Capsules: the easiest and the fastest way to build your BI and CPM solution

A capsule is a container that can host any BOARD object:
  • Reports and charts (with data-entry support)
  • Spreadsheets
  • Simulation models
  • Processing procedures
  • Images
  • Gauges
  • Tabbed folders
  • Flowcharts where individual elements can display BOARD database data/indicators used as active elements in the interface (for models browsing/processing)
  • Simple Transaction Object (S.T.O.) for supported, controlled and validated data entry

With a simple drag & drop from the toolbox, objects are arranged on the screen and configured interactively.

Screens are linked by buttons or menus to build easy-to-navigate applications.

Users can build and easily share their own reports, calculation procedures and simulation models.

Because BOARD is programming-free and low-maintenance, a wide range of applications to support distributed decision-making processes such as Financial Reporting and Consolidation or Sales Force Support Systems, etc., can be built quickly and at low cost.

The Active Data Dictionary ensures that applications created with the capsules automatically take advantage of the multi-dimensional structure of databases.

The end user perspective: simplicity and strength

The BOARD User has access to a wide range of functions for maximum power and flexibility of analysis. Examples include time series analysis, exception reporting, sorting, ranking, filtering, color-coding, 80-20 analysis, and multi-dimensional modeling, etc.

Formatting options allow the management of front-end presentation features (font, colors, etc.), both at report and single column level.

Reports can also include images linked to indicators (e.g. dashboards) or analysis dimensions (e.g. product photos). BOARD can also manage information delivery in push mode. The Broadcasting feature allows sending personalized email reports in MS Excel format to a list of recipients defined by dynamic rules (e.g., only salespersons who did not achieve the target this month).

The use of reports and charts to enter and modify data is integrated with an embedded database function called Splitting & Splatting. With this feature, BOARD makes it possible to modify data at all aggregation levels (e.g. Budget per Division) and therefore automatically allocate changes back to the lowest level of detail (e.g. per Article and Customer). In this context it is possible to verify immediately the impact of changes made from all levels (e.g. per Agent), thus offering excellent support for interactive simulation.
