Founded in 1999, Phoenix Marketing International is one of the fastest growing marketing services firms and partner to many of the largest companies in the financial services, consumer package goods, automotive and travel and leisure industries worldwide. Phoenix also offers advanced advertising and brand measurement along with direct marketing expertise.

Business Challenges
Delivery of marketing information to customers proved to be a challenge for Phoenix MI, especially when utilizing labor-intensive tools like PowerPoint and Excel. The need for faster and more timely report creation and distribution, together with the need to extract more value from their market research datasets drove their search for a new solution.

Selection Process
The selection of the proper tool was difficult due to the dynamic nature of the data output from marketing surveys combined with the need to adhere to strict presentation requirements. A proof-of-concept (POC) that adhered to format requirements demonstrated how BOARD could handle data source changes from month to month while maintaining the ad-hoc benefits that the Toolkit offers. BOARD was capable of adjusting itself to the changing data with only minimal manual interaction, while maintaining the ability to compare results with previous datasets.

After successful demonstration of these requirements, the BOARD Toolkit was selected as the tool of choice for many Phoenix MI projects. Sdg Management Intelligence, a global management consulting firm specializing in CPM and analytical applications, was selected as the implementation partner. Sdg is BOARD’s most experienced solution provider, and was chosen based on its implementations of BOARD across Europe and North America, as well as the successful delivery of the POC.

BOARD Solution
The BOARD Management Intelligence Toolkit has been delivered to several of Phoenix MI’s clients, each of whom now have the benefits of Excel-like reports and dashboards. These new solutions were created in less than 30 days, and maintain the historical presentation format while adding the ability to ‘slice and dice’ data in an ad-hoc fashion.
The following results have been extremely valuable for both Phoenix MI and its clients:

    • Reduction of time required to create custom reports reduced from days to seconds
    • Decrease in dependence on other companies for analysis of data
    • Reduced cost through decreased requirement of labor for data manipulation and analysis presentation
